My entire career has been in recruitment. There have been many
changes during that time. The one thing that has remained constant is that recruitment is all about people. Great people are the building blocks of great companies. The people you hire shape your culture and how your company is perceived.

I love what I do – placing great people into great companies. People
are after all the heart and soul of every business.

I specialise primarily in Insurance and Corporate recruitment NATIONWIDE. A highlight for me is Quinn Recruitment being the first local agency to specialise in Insurance Recruitment. I am extremely proud of this!

Recruiting is a job where I make a real difference to the lives of
real people. There is nothing like the thrill of your client offering your
person a job and they enthusiastically say “yes!”

Outside of work I am a keen photographer of people. I put on my
hiking boots and travel to remote destinations whenever I can – my trusty Canon in hand.

Changing a person’s life for the better is simply the best feeling
in the world. It is even better when you place someone in a job and 6, 12, or 18 months later they tell you “Guess what Robbie – I have been promoted”. For me it doesn’t get any better than that.

Rachel Holland

Team Lead Temporary Consultant 

Rachel started her career in recruiting on our permanent desk and
took a real pride in helping people establish careers rather than simply
finding them a job. When she was offered the chance to head our Temporary
Division, she leapt at the opportunity.

Rachel is a ‘people person’. Clients and job seekers love what she
does for them and state she is the best! She has well developed candidate
networks across all industry sectors NATIONWIDE enabling her to quickly and
efficiently source those exceptional temporary people. When the skills sought
are rare and difficult to locate Rachel always manages through her contacts to
bring them into the Quinn network.

Rachel’s recipe for success is quite simple. She genuinely likes
people. She supports her temporaries and cares for their wellbeing. We love
that quality!

Rachel hails from the UK, Lincolnshire to be precise and has lived
in New Zealand since 2007.

Apart from loving New Zealand, the Warriors and Recruiting and not
necessarily in that order, Rachel has a four-legged friend called Patch who she
rescued. Patch is possibly the worlds most chilled dog so he is great to have
in our office. He loves sleeping, balls and food and is not shy giving his
opinion especially if treats are on hand.

Helping a candidate who had been in New Zealand for a while but
was unable to find a role in their field. They were really low on confidence
and self-belief but working with them to build their confidence I helped them
gain a new role doing what they loved. This is why I love recruitment. I get to
help people every day. 

Rachel’s Top Recruiting Tip

In a job interview it’s easy to try and change to fit in with what you think a company is looking for. But a job interview is really just a conversation, and the most engaging and memorable conversations happen when you are being yourself. So be professional, but if you’re a naturally funny person, show it. If you’re highly detail oriented, show that. Go with your own personality.

Salli Smith

Salli joined our Quinn Family after a successful career in the Travel Industry. Salli is a people person so working in recruitment is the dream job for her. When all is said and done – our business is all about people. It is about guiding and shaping people’s careers. Salli understands the challenges facing New Zealand companies in 2022 – finding and employing the right people. Salli has a unique talent for identifying people with the skills and attitudes that really set them apart – people that make a real difference to any company.

During her time at Quinn, Salli has really connected with the Insurance, Corporate and Legal communities. She knows that success in recruitment is about creating win- win situations for client’s and job seekers. She loves our one-team approach – when you work with one of us you work with all of us. 

Salli is a multi-sport athlete.  She enjoys keeping fit and living a healthy life and tries to inspire us to do the same. No challenge is ever too daunting for Salli. Her latest challenge is teaching us all Te reo.

Charlie Allen

Recruitment Consultant

Our temporary staffing division is experiencing strong growth. It is a busy, busy place. Charlie brings a delightful X factor to our team. Finding great temps that add real value on their assignments is what Charlie loves about recruiting.

Charlie is personable and relatable and instinctively knows what people value in their relationship with their recruiter. She is warm and engaging and typifies what our agency is all about.  She shares our values and culture.

Prior to joining the Quinn Team Charlie enjoyed a successful career in the world of fashion. Travel has also played a big part in Charlie’s life to date. Her two favourite holiday destinations are Bali for the atmosphere and activities and Edinburgh for the history and landscape.
