In Recruitment or any business, you cannot make assumptions about people or situations. Assumptions in a stable economic environment are problematic but absolutely lethal when faced with the uncertainty in the world we currently live in. Along with adaptability, which we are all getting a lot of practice at right now, mental toughness is another skill we can build on. There is so much noise and change going on, sometimes it seems there is too much, but we cannot let ourselves get bogged down by this.
Many businesses already have and will continue to change work practices and their hiring behaviours as they adapt and adjust to their new reality. We must embrace this new reality, learn from it and adapt to it. We must let go of the past and embrace the new reality ahead – then and only then we will thrive.
